Does acupressure have a seat at the table?

Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours! As we gather to celebrate the season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to express how thankful I am for you all as patients. Getting to share space with you in the treatment room is something I never take for granted.

While all of our tables this holiday may look different, one thing they all have in common is leaving us all with bloating and indigestion. I wanted to share with you one of my favorite acupuncture points to combat this food-coma. ✨Stomach 36✨

This point is located four finger widths down from the bottom of your knee cap, along the outer boundary of your shin bone. If you are in the right place, a muscle should pop out as you move your foot up and down. An easy way to find this point is by taking your hand and cupping it at the bottom of your knee cap, where your pinky finger meets the lateral side of the tibia is the sweet spot. To aid in your body’s natural digestive response, massage this point for 1-2 minutes before and after your meal to lessen gas, bloating, nausea, and stomach pain. Cheers! 🤎✨
